Who is the Orthotist?
Our Orthotist is Mark Harasimiuk. Mark graduated from BCIT in Canada in 1994 and completed an Orthotics Internship and certified with the Canadian Board of Certification in 1998. Mark's main interest is in lower limb biomechanics and helping people with a variety of complex conditions especially related to the foot and ankle as well as paediatrics neurology and other musculoskeletal issues.
He also has experience in Prosthetics and arrived in Gippsland when starting the Prosthetics and Orthotics Department at Latrobe Regional Hospital in Traralgon in 2003.
Mark completed training as a Sports Medicine Australia Level 1 Sports trainer and is involved and supports the Gippsland Sports Academy.
He is a Certified Prosthetist Orthotist (full member) of the Australian Orthotic and Prosthetic Association (AOPA) and continues his professional studies yearly as part of the mandatory re-certification.
